Obtaining the HP manifest catalog with the sync tool

There are two methods to obtain the HP manifest catalog with the sync tool:

Sync with the Internet—HP recommends that the sync tool be used to automatically download the HP

manifest catalog from the HP website. Using this method, new catalog updates can be automatically

implemented with no user intervention.
Be sure that the sync host has an FTP connection so that the sync tool can automatically download

the latest HP manifest catalog. If the SMS environment uses a proxy that requires authentication, see

"SMS site server with an FTP connection (on page

23

)" for more information.

Sync with a network shared folder—If the sync host does not have an FTP connection, HP

recommends configuring the sync tool to obtain the HP manifest catalog from a local folder or a

network shared folder. The SMS administrator must manually download the HP manifest catalog and

HP ProLiant or Integrity Support Pack components from the HP website and place the files in the

appropriate locations. See "SMS site server without an FTP connection (on page
