10.2 Sequence of cuts
Preventing trapping of the wire
The last cut must be positioned so that the cut-
out section does not trap the wire.
Wire sawing is much less difficult with regard
to trapping of the tool (wire) than sawing with a
diamond cutting blade, as the diamond wire
continuously cuts itself free.
However, we still recommend the following
sequence of cuts: The lower, horizontal cut
should be made first, as the wire is then
exposed to least risk of trapping when the cut
section drops into the cut.
The subsequent cuts involve less risk and can
therefore be made in any sequence.
