• Maximum wire run between Expansion boards 1-8 is 500 feet total.
• Do not use twisted pair wire with weigand output format.
• Proper grounding is required! Ground wire should be a minimum 12 AWG.

Wiring these telephone entry systems are the same as section 2.3.1 EXCEPT for the expansion board connection. Up to 8
boards can be wired to the circuit board’s Aux Terminal #7 thru #9 instead of a weigand input device. To connect more than 8
expansions boards, see section 2.3.3 on the next page. All expansion boards must have their own power source. See the
Expansion Board Manual 2351-065 for further information BEFORE wiring expansion boards.

The model 2351 Expansion Board allows you to expand the number of remote entry points
that the 1833, 1835, 1837 telephone entry systems can control. One expansion board is
required for EACH remote entry point.

2.3.2 Wiring Up to 8 Expansion Boards - 1833, 1835 and 1837 Systems

Main Terminal

Expansion Board Power: You may power up to four (4) expansion
boards from a single 16 VAC, 20 VA power transformer.
18 AWG wire up to 100 Ft.
16 AWG wire up to 200 Ft.
It is advisable to keep power wire runs as short as possible.

Relay 2 Input

“2RY” Contact is set NO with Relay 2 Jumper on board.

Red - NO circuit board connection.

Aux Terminal Connection

Black - Aux #9 connection.
White - Aux #8 connection.
Green - Aux #7 connection.

Note: DO NOT connect expansion boards
to Aux #11,Aux #12 or Aux #13.

shield. 18, 20, 22 or 24 gauge. Shield runs continuous. Float the

shield, DO NOT connect shield to 2351-010 board common.
