3 . Press and release the Enter button (figure 3-7). The input, output, and Enter
buttons return to either unlit or to background illumination. The LCD returns
to the default display. The current configuration is now defined as input 5
tied to output 3, output 4, and output 8.

Example 1b: Create a set of ties in quick switch mode
The following steps show an example in which input 5 is tied to outputs 3, 4, and 8
in quick switch mode. Each step shows the front panel indications that result from
your action.
This example assumes that there are no ties in the current configuration.
1 . Press and release the input 5 button (figure 3-8).

The button lights green.

2 . Press and release the output 3, output 4, and output 8 buttons (figure 3-9).
The output 3, output 4, and output 8 buttons light red as they are pressed to
indicate a created tie. The current configuration is now defined as input 5 tied
to output 3, output 4, and output 8.
Press and release the output 3, 4, and 8 buttons.
The buttons blink red to indicate a tie.
The LCD updates the current
switch configuration display
as each output button is
pressed. See “Viewing the
current configuration” in this
chapter.
After approximately 10
seconds the input and output
buttons return to either unlit or
background illumination.
