Different types of engine require different solutions. On air-cooled engines, the fan sucks
fresh air from the environment and conveys it to the engine. In the case of large-sized
engines, fresh air should be conveyed directly to the cooling fan, if possible, to avoid warm
air being sucked from the engine.
FOUNDATIONS AND ANCHORING TO THE GROUND
The sizing of the pump room foundations must be carefully studied to prevent the
transmission of vibrations and noise to other areas of the building.
The diesel pump is equipped with anti-vibration pads and must be anchored to the ground or
to an appropriate base. When the set is supplied pre-mounted on a base, the latter must be
anchored to the ground.
Any loads on the diesel pump, such as exhaust gas pipes or manifolds mounted on the liquid
end must always be supported and equipped with anti-vibration couplings.
When installing the set, make sure that the suction and delivery pipes do not exert any stress
on the diesel pump set, and that they are properly aligned.
Install the supplied rubber expansion joints correctly, between the pipes and the diesel pump
set.
Mechanical stresses on the suction or delivery sides of the diesel pump can cause
damage or generate dangerous vibrations during operation.
FOR THE HYDRAULIC CONNECTIONS AND THE WATER CHARGE, REFER TO THE PUMPSET
MANUAL.
Watch out for water leaks from the system!
The pumps are equipped with re-circulation devices on the delivery side, which must be
suitably connected to the reservoir or priming tank, depending on the type of system, so as
not to cause flooding.
Connect the re-circulation pipes to the reservoir or priming tank!
For suction lift sets with priming tank, install the tank and connect it according to the
instructions provided.
