engine or its vicinity; do not leave any tools or other parts not belonging to the system in the
same room with the diesel pump or near it.
Never leave flammable liquids or rags soaked with flammable liquids near the set or near
electrical equipment (including lamps) or parts of an electrical system.
Adopt all precautionary measures designed to prevent any risk of electric shock; make sure
there is a grounding system according to the standards in force.
Post a sign on all the electrical cutoff devices designed to isolate those parts of the system on
which work is to be carried out. Whenever possible, use key-operated lockout devices to
prevent any accidental, dangerous manoeuvres.
Install all the necessary safety protections on the parts that complete the system.
Isolate all the connectors and disconnected wires.
Check the devices designed to stop the diesel engine and signal its operating conditions for
perfect functionality (check the following devices in particular: for low oil pressure; for high
engine temperature; emergency start buttons).
Observe the following rules to prevent any accidental start-ups:
- Starting batteries must be disconnected from the diesel pump set;
- Key operated selector switch on the control panel must be set to the “0” position.
The site and installation of the set (foundation, air inlet, gas exhaust) must comply with the
safety standards locally in force.
GENERAL INSTALLATION CRITERIA
The installation of one or more diesel pumps must be performed according to the design
drafted by specialized technicians certified to design this type of systems.
The installation must be performed by certified organizations employing specialized personnel
and suitable equipment.
The systems must be constructed in a workmanlike manner; once the work has been
completed, the installing firm must issue a Declaration of Conformity of the systems,
guaranteeing their workmanlike execution, conformity to the design and compliance with the
reference standards.
We recommend that you pay special attention to all the parts connected with the safety of
the supervising and operating personnel.
Protect the diesel pump from the weather and freezing temperatures.
The room or area where the diesel pump set is installed must be under the exclusive
management of specialized and suitably trained personnel.
Do not grant access to any persons not expressly authorized and trained to operate the set.
The diesel pump sets can start up automatically even in the absence of electrical power. Post
a sign in the vicinity of the set warning personnel of this characteristic.
Before proceeding, carefully read the warnings contained in this manual and in those relating
to the accessories supplied with the diesel pump.
Lift the diesel pump set using the lifting lugs found on the base. Do not use the
eye bolt found on the motor or pump!
