Electrical Service Center
Theelectricalservicecenterprovidesgroupedgroundlevel
accesstonumerouselectricalfeatures,enhancingsafety
andconvenienceforoperatorsandservicetechnicians.It
isconvenientlylocatedbeneaththeleftplatformforaccess
beforeenteringthecabandcontainsthemaintenancefree
batteries,afuserelaypanel,maindisconnectswitch,ground
levelengineshutdownswitch,hoodtiltswitch,andthejump
startreceptacle.
Engine Access
TheKSeriesretainstheCatsloped“one­piece”tilting
hood,whichhasbecomeoneofourbrand’shallmarksand
providesindustry­leadingaccesstotheengine,CatClean
EmissionsModule(CEM)andothercomponentsbutwith
freshnewstylingclearlydistinctfromtheHSeries.Newto
theloadersisarearclamshellhooddesignthatallowsquick
accesstotheengineoildipstickandfill,fuelfillport,and
coolercores.
Cooling System
Thecoolingsystemisreadilyaccessibleforcleanout
andmaintenance.Withsixcoolingfinsperinchanda
perforatedgrill,mostairbornedebrisenteringthesystem
passesthroughthecoolercores.Thecoolercoresswingout
providingeasyaccessforcleaning;anoptionvariablepitch
fanisavailabletoautomaticallypurgethecoolercoresby
periodicallyreversingtheairflow.
Hydraulic Service Center
Thehydrauliccomponentsareallconvenientlylocated
behindthehingedrightsideaccessladderatasingleground
levelservicecenterenhancingsafetyandreducingservice
time.Accessiblefromtheservicecenterarethetransmission
andhydraulicoilfilters,brakeaccumulators,pressuretest
ports,etc.
