The mode LED will blink, indicating that the MIDISPORT is in Patchbay mode,
not in Interface mode.
Setting Patchbay Programs
Dropping down the remote control “Hardware” menu and selecting “Patchbay”
will bring up this dialog box. From this screen, you can set up all of your
patchbay programs to be stored inside the MIDISPORT. Just choose a program
number by clicking on the up/down arrows, and then click in the boxes to setup
the signal routing. When you click on “OK,” the program stores that program in
the MIDISPORT. The default settings are all inputs merged to all outputs.
In Patchbay mode, the MIDI inputs are routed to MIDI outputs according to 8
different user programs. A user program specifies the routing/merging between
MIDI inputs and outputs. Any of the 8 MIDI Ins may be routed to any or all of
the 8 MIDI Outs simultaneously. If multiple Ins are assigned to a single Out,
then the MIDISPORT 8x8/s automatically merges the MIDI messages.
The user programs are set up and managed by the provided Remote Control
software. Once the Remote Control software creates the user programs, the
programs are stored internally in the MIDISPORT 8x8/s and will remain intact
even with the power off.
Changing Programs Using Program Change Messages
The MIDISPORT may be switched to the other available programs numbers via
MIDI Program Change messages. The Program Change messages must be
received at MIDI IN8 and on MIDI Channel 16 only. These program changes
only apply to Patchbay mode and not Interface mode.
