Cleaning the Separation Pawls
The separation pawls are attached to the fusing unit, which is located
to the left of and beneath the drum and cleaning unit compartment.
3 Wipe the top of the
quenching lamp
with a clean water-
dampened cloth.
4 Reinsert the quenching lamp.
» Note: Be sure to insert the quenching lamp properly since it will
damage the drum if inserted incorrectly. Make sure the slots
on each side of the quenching lamp align with the guide tracks.
5 Leave the front cover open for cleaning the separation pawls.
WARNING! The fusing unit is very hot. You must turn the printer off
and allow the fusing unit to cool for at least 40 minutes before
cleaning. If your printing needs do not allow you to let the printer cool
for 40 minutes, use a piece of thick cloth to protect your skin from the
heat while removing the fusing unit.
ACHTUNG! Die Fusing Unit ist sehr heiß. Wenn Sie diese auswechseln
oder reinigen wollen, schalten Sie bitte den Drucker aus und lassen Sie
die Fusing Unit mindestens 40 Minuten abkühlen. Wenn Ihr
Arbeitsablauf es nicht zuläßt, daß der Drucker 40 Minuten nicht
genutzt werden kann, verwenden Sie bitte einen dicken Stofflappen
oder Arbeitshandschuhe, um Ihre Haut vor der Hitze zu schützen,
während Sie die Fusing Unit reinigen oder ausbauen.
