Quick Start Guide
The purpose of this guide is to introduce users to the GL-1010 
product, summarize installation and operational procedures, and 
describe system requirements and specifications. A printed copy 
of this manual ships with the GL-1010.
GL-1010 Administrator’s Guide
You can find the.pdf version of this guide on the e-STUDIO GL-
1010 Admin’s Client CD-ROM. It is intended for the network 
administrator and contains detailed information for installing, 
configuring, and troubleshooting your Toshiba GL-1010. 
GL-1010
This component of the e-STUDIO GL-1010 
Electronic Document Processing System provides 
network connectivity between the client 
workstations and the digital copier connected to it. 
The GL-1010 is physically mounted to the 
TOSHIBA e-STUDIO28/35/45. In this guide, it is 
sometimes referred to simply as “controller” or 
“device”. 
Local Operations
Those operations that affect the GL-1010 or 
TOSHIBA e-STUDIO28/35/45 functionality and 
are performed on the physical device, usually 
from the copier’s LCD touch screen. An example 
of local operation is changing the IP address of 
the GL-1010 from the TCP/IP Setting LCD touch 
screen. 
Network Printing
Printing from a Windows, Macintosh, or Unix client 
workstation to the GL-1010, with the output 
produced on the connected TOSHIBA e-
STUDIO28/35/45. 
Walk-up 
functions
Those operations performed from the control 
panel of the TOSHIBA e-STUDIO28/35/45. This 
includes standard copy functions, as well as 
network print monitoring and management 
functions.
