Combining and Using Pioneer AV Equipment
Initial Settings
Initial settings lets you perform initial set up of
different settings for Pioneer AV Head Unit (AVH-
P6400CD or AVH-P6400).
Displaying the INITIAL SET-
TINGS MENU

Press the SOURCE button and hold until
the source is off.

Press the A.MENU (AUDIO) button and
the OFF SOURCE MENU is displayed.

Press
5 or ∞ to select “INITIAL SET-
TINGS”, and press the A.MENU (AUDIO)
button.
The INITIAL SETTINGS MENU is displayed as
follows:
DETACH WARNING
AUX (AUXILIARY)
REAR SPEAKER
TEL/GUIDE MUTE/ATT
You can operate a desired function. For
details, refer to the pages for each of the func-
tions.
Use the following instructions to operate each
particular setting.
❒ To cancel initial settings, press the BAND/
ESC button.
Switching the warning tone
If the operation panel of the AV Head Unit is not
detached from the AV Head Unit within five sec-
onds of turning off the ignition, a warning tone
will sound. You can turn off this warning tone.

5 or ∞ to select “DETACH WARN-
ING” from the INITIAL SETTINGS
MENU, and press the A.MENU (AUDIO)
button.

Select the warning tone on or off with
5
or
∞.
Pressing
5 or ∞ will switch WARNING
between “ON” and “OFF”.
Switching the auxiliary setting
It is possible to use auxiliary equipment with Pio-
neer AV Head Unit (AVH-P6400CD or AVH-
P6400). Activate the auxiliary setting when using
auxiliary equipment connected to Pioneer AV
Head Unit (AVH-P6400CD or AVH-P6400).

MENU, and press the A.MENU (AUDIO)
button.

Select the auxiliary setting on or off with
5 or ∞.
Pressing
5 or ∞ will switch “AUX” between
“ON” and “OFF”.
Setting the rear output and sub-
woofer controller
Pioneer AV Head Unit’s (AVH-P6400CD or AVH-
P6400) rear output (rear speaker leads output
and RCA rear output) can be used for full-range
speaker (“REAR SPEAKER:FULL”) or sub-
woofer (“REAR SPEAKER:SUBWOOFER”)
connection. If you switch rear output setting to
the “REAR SPEAKER:SUBWOOFER”, you can
connect a rear speaker lead directly to a sub-
woofer without using an auxiliary amp.
Initially, the Pioneer AV Head Unit (AVH-
P6400CD or AVH-P6400) is set for rear fullrange
speaker connection (“REAR SPEAKER:FULL”).
When full range speakers are connected to rear
output (when “REAR SPEAKER:FULL” is
selected), you can connect the RCA subwoofer
output to a subwoofer. In this case, you can
select whether to use the subwoofer controller’s
(low pass filter, phase) built-in “S.W. CON-
