Run Listen Verify Diagnostic
The Listen Verify diagnostic is used to determine if Base Stations are
performing correctly. See SpectraLink 6300 MCU: Operator’s Console for
details. When the test is run, each each Base Station stops transmitting
for a short time and listens for other Base Stations. The system checks
signal strength levels between Base Stations to ensure that no Base
Station is installed too close to another. If Base Stations are too close,
one Base Station will be disabled (“locked out”) and an alarm will be
activated, unless the Base Station in question has been designated as
an “isolated” Base Station.
Base Stations with diagnostic listen values of less than -40 dbm are
close to being locked out. If the Base Station is only a few dbm away
from locking out, it should be repositioned to get a lower signal
strength to avoid the lockout.
The Listen Verify test can be run manually or the system can
automatically run it at the same time each day. See SpectraLink 6300
MCU: Operator’s Console for detailed information on how to manually
or automatically run the Listen Verify diagnostic, and how to
interpret results.
