6. Enter parameters according to the descriptions below and click the
Apply button.
7. Select System > Save Configuration and click the Save button to
save your new settings.
Description of parameters when creating a new filtering rule:
Parameter
Description
Protocol Type
It governs the information flow within a
communications infrastructure. You may select the
protocol from the drop-down list and then enter the
port number that identifies the service, e.g. web
service is on port 80 and FTP on port 21.
Local Side
IP Address and Netmask
If you wish to filter packets originating from a certain
node, enter the IP address and subnet mask that
identifies this node on the network.
Remote Side
IP Address and Netmask
If you wish to filter packets addressed to a certain
node, enter the IP address and subnet mask that
identifies that destination node on the Internet. The
Netmask field is disregarded if you leave it as
0.0.0.0.
