3. Secure the disk unit using the screws that come with the removable case. (Use two

screws on each side as shown in the diagram.)

4. Replace the bottom. (Before installation, read the following note.)

5. Install the entire case and disk in the D-160 following the steps on page “40” (don't

forget to lock the key!) and proceed to formatting.

Formatting a hard disk

After replacing the hard disk cartridge, follow this procedure to format the disk.
When you turn the power on to a D-160 that has an unformatted disk, the unit
automatically enters the Setup mode "Disk Format?" menu.

1. Confirm that the cartridge is locked by the key, and turn on the power to the D-160.

The display will show the initial screen, then change to the following screen:
"IDE" shown in the display indicates that the internal IDE hard disk is undergoing formatting.

2. After confirming the above display, press the EXECUTE/YES key.

The currently installed internal IDE hard disk model name will be shown in the display
and "SURE?" will blink at the same time.

3. Press the EXECUTE/YES key again.

Formatting of the internal IDE hard disk will be started and progressive to this, the
remaining unformatted disk capacity will be counted down attached with a minus symbol.

Simultaneous with the start of formatting, the

symbol FL tube in the level meters of all

channels will light. And as formatting progresses, the FL tube will be extinguished one by
one starting from track 16.
This is an indication that the hard disk is being formatted correctly and when formatting
is finished, all FL tubes will be extinguish and "COMPLETED!" will be lit.
