: Night Portrait

o

Tell subjects to remain still for a moment after the fl ash fi res.

o

During Live View shooting, achieving focus may be diffi cult when the face of

the subject looks dark. In this case, set the lens’s focus mode switch to <

MF

>

and focus manually.

o

When you shoot a night scene with Live View shooting, achieving focus with

AF may be diffi cult if point sources of light are found in the AF point. In this

case, set the lens’s focus mode switch to <

MF

> and focus manually.

o

The Live View image displayed will not look exactly the same as the actual

captured image.

: Handheld Night Scene

o

Compared to other shooting modes, the image area will be smaller.

o

RAW image quality cannot be set.

o

When you shoot a night scene with Live View shooting, achieving focus with

AF may be diffi cult if point sources of light are found in the AF point. In this

case, set the lens’s focus mode switch to <

MF

> and focus manually.

o

The Live View image displayed will not look exactly the same as the actual

captured image.

o

If you use a fl ash and the subject is close, overexposure may result.

o

If you use a fl ash for a night scene with limited lighting, the shots may not align

correctly. This may result in a blurry picture.

o

If you use a fl ash with a human subject close to the background that is also

illuminated by the fl ash, the shots may not align correctly. This may result in a

blurry picture. Unnatural shadows and unsuitable colors may also appear.

o

Flash coverage angle with an external Speedlite:

• When using a Speedlite with automatic fl ash coverage setting, the zoom

position will be fi xed to the wide (wide-angle) end regardless of the lens’s

zoom position.

• When using a Speedlite requiring manual fl ash coverage setting, set the

fl ash head to the normal position.
