6. VW/AUDI/SEAT/SKODA Diagnostics

VAG505 is specially designed to work with
most Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda sold worldwide of 1990
or newer models being OBD II compliant.
6.1 Read Codes and Erase Codes
6.1.1 Read Codes
CAUTION: Don’t connect or disconnect any test equipment with
ignition on or engine running.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Locate the vehicle’s 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC).
3. Plug the OBDII connector to the vehicle’s DLC.
4. Turn the ignition on. Engine can be off or running.
5. Turn on the scan tool. Select VAG505 from Main Screen
(Figure 3.1), and press OK button. Wait for the Select Mode
screen to appear.
6. With the scan tool in Select Mode screen(Figure 6.1), use
UP/DOWN scroll button to select Auto Scan, and press OK
button. Wait for a few minutes until following screen shows as
Figure 6.2. The screen continually changes according to the
detecting system. Finally, it will display all detectable systems
available in the vehicle as Figure 6.3.
