Check Clutch System
1. Stand the motorcycle upright on level ground.
2. Turn the handlebars until the top of the clutch fluid
reservoir is level.
3. View the fluid through the sight glass. The fluid
should be clear and at a level above or near the top
of the sight glass. Add Dot 4 brake fluid if necessary
(see page 169).
4. Check clutch lever operation by pulling the lever to
the hand grip and releasing it slowly. The lever
should move smoothly through the travel range.
5. Check for any signs of clutch fluid leaks around the
hoses, fittings, fluid reservoir, and slave cylinder
located at the rear of the left engine (primary) cover.
