HD Full Size File Format / Size Calculations
Vertical and horizontal image start points are defined in SMPTE 274M and
SMPTE 296M. A full screen image in the Kalypso HD still store is equiva-
lent to the production aperture defined in SMPTE RP-187.
Each line of a full-screen 1080i image consists of 1920 active and 12 inactive
pixels packed into 4968 bytes as described in tables
Table 121 and Table 122 .
There are 137 2/14 active pixel groups (1920 pixels) and 12/14 of the last
pixel group (12 pixels, which contain inactive video) per line (a pixel group
contains 14 pixels). There are no padding lines between fields.
Each line of a full-screen 720p image consists of 1280 active and 8 inactive
pixels packed into 3312 bytes as described in the tables. There are 91 6/14
active pixel groups (1280 pixels) and 8/14 of the last pixel group (8 pixels,
which contains inactive video) per line. There are no padding lines at the
end of the frame.
The pixel groups of all the fenced image sizes are fully packed.
