The DCE cables allow direct connection to DTE devices; no modem or modem eliminator is
required. When a DCE interface is selected, the HSC should be configured to generate the
transmit clock. Baud rates up to 1 Mbps are supported and configured on the HSC line panels.

RS232 Serial Interface
Serial Port
A serial port is provided with the FET and VHP cards. The serial port on the VHP card is not
functional. The serial communications port on the FET provides a full-duplex asynchronous/
synchronous receiver and transmitter. The port is used for serial communications. The serial
port setting for baud rate, data bits and stop bits are set via a configuration panel.
