10 – Making other settings and viewing information
System settings (SETUP screen)
On the SETUP screen, you can change various settings to optimize the unit
for your use environment and other requirements. You can also initialize the
unit, and format microSD cards.
Follow the procedure below to open the SETUP screen.
1. Press the MENU button to open the MENU screen.
2. Use the Pointing Stick to select the SETUP menu item and then press
the center of the Pointing Stick to open the Setup screen.
3. Press 5 and b to select the item that you want to set. (See the
following sections for details about each item on the Setup screen.)
4. When done changing the setting, press the F3/HOME button to return to
the Home Screen.
Using the AUTO OFF function
Use the AUTO OFF item set how long until the power turns off
automatically after the last use or operation.
Options : OFF, 3min, 5min, 10min, 30min(default)
Using the backlight auto off function
Use the BACKLIGHT item to set the time until the back-light automatically
turns off after the last operation when powered with batteries.
Options : ON (backlight not automatically turned off), 5sec, 10sec, 15sec,
30sec
Adjusting the backlight brightness
Use the DIMMER item to adjust the backlight brightness.
Options : HIGH (default), LOW, ALL OFF (backlight off)
Setting the battery type
Use the BATTERY item to set the type of the batteries used in the unit.
This setting is used to show the amount of remaining battery charge and
determine if the unit has enough power for normal operation.
Options: ALKAL (default, alkaline), NIMH (nickel-metal hydride)
