CONNECTION GUIDE

Video Inputs and Looping Outputs

The D4000 comes with a BNC video input on the top of the device. The video input has a
corresponding looping BNC output for passing the video signal to a CCTV monitor, which can
be configured to output a color bar generator for monitor calibration.

Connecting to a Network

Use the RJ45 jack labeled LAN/PSE IN on the side of the device when connecting to a
network. Use the RJ45 jack labeled LAN/POE OUT when direct connecting to a camera.

Connecting Audio

The D4000 can act as an audio pass through. Connect an audio source to the Line In on the
side of the device, as well as PC Speakers or headphones.

Connecting a PTZ Camera

The RS485 connector can be used to control Pan / Tilt / Zoom (PTZ) cameras. See the PTZ
camera manufacturer’s manual for configuring the RS485 connection.

Connect TX- and TX+ of the D4000 to the RX- and RX+ (respectively) of the camera.

Connecting Power

Use the DV12V power input to power the device and charge the internal battery.

Connecting a Network Cable for Test

When testing a CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 UTP cable, connect the cable to the RJ45 jack
labeled CAT5.
