Vpwm
Purpose ................ to measure on pulse-width modulated
signals, like motor drive inverter outputs
Principle ........ readings show the effective voltage based
on the average value of samples over a
whole number of periods of the fundamental
frequency
Accuracy ............................. as Vrms for sinewave signals
V/Hz
Purpose .................... to show the measured Vpwm value
(see Vpwm) divided by the fundamental frequency
on Variable-Speed AC Motor drives.
Accuracy ..................................................... %Vrms + %Hz
Note
AC motors are designed for use with a rotating
magnetic field of constant strength. This strength
depends on the applied voltage (Vpwm) divided
by the fundamental frequency of the appied
voltage (Hz). The nominal Volt and Hz values are
shown on the motor type plate.
