The 1769sc-IF8U module can be configured in RSLogix 5000 using either
the AOP (Add On Profile) or the generic module profile depending on the
level of firmware installed on the PLC. The AOP can be used on
controllers running firmware version 15 or higher. The generic profile
must be used on controllers running firmware level 14 or older. The AOP
can be found on the Spectrum Controls website at
http://www.spectrumcontrols.com/downloads.htm.
The following procedure describes how to configure the 1769sc-IF8U in
Rslogix 5000 using the generic module profile.
To configure a 1769sc-IF8U Universal module for a CompactLogix
Controller using RSLogix 5000 with the 1769 Generic Profile, begin a new
project in RSLogix 5000. Click on the new project icon or on the FILE
pull-down menu and select NEW. The following screen appears:
Choose your controller type and enter a name for your project, then click
OK. The following main RSLogix 5000 screen appears:
