1 Introducing the FTB-2 and
FTB-2 Pro
Note: In this documentation, the words “tap” and “double-tap” (related to the
use of a touchscreen) replace the words “click” and “double-click”.
Note: Many of the illustrations referring to Windows features were made using
Windows 8.1 Pro. For this reason, depending on the model that you have
purchased, the appearance of the applications may vary slightly from the
illustrations presented in this documentation.
Main Features
Your unit includes the following:

10.1-inch color touchscreen (LCD and touchscreen optimized for
outdoor use available as an option)

Two USB 2.0 host ports and one USB 3.0 host port

Ethernet port (10/100/1000 Base-T)

Headset/microphone port (for headsets equipped with a microphone)

External monitor port (for monitors with DisplayPort interface)

Optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability

Optional built-in power meter and VFL

Compatible with some of the FTB-500 modules

Windows 8.1 Pro (FTB-2 Pro)/ Windows Embedded 8 Standard (FTB-2)
operating system

Multitasking possibilities

Remote access to your unit (via TightVNC or Remote Desktop)

Modules and instruments can be controlled locally via the ToolBox X
software or remotely through RS-232 or Ethernet TCP/IP (using SCPI
commands).

