RJ-11 Phone Jack This port connects to the built-in modem. You may plug the telephone line directly into this RJ-11
telephone connection.
Note: Broadband (e.g. ADSL) modems usually connect to the LAN port.
RJ-45 LAN Jack This port supports LAN (Network) functions.

S/PDIF-Out Jack This S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) Out Port allows you to connect your DVD-
capable PC to a Dolby AC-3 compatible receiver for “5.1” or ‘dts’ surround sound.
Security Lock Slot To prevent possible theft, a Kensington-type lock can be attached to this slot. Locks can be
purchased at any computer store.
Serial Port Connect a serial type mouse to this port.
S-Video-In Jack The S-Video-In jack allows video input to the computer if you have included the optional Mini-
PCI TV Tuner in your purchase.
7-Pin S-Video-Out Jack Connect your television to your computer and view DVDs, VCDs or anything else your computer
can display. You will need a 7-pin S-Video plug to 4-pin S-Video jack adapter and S-Video cable
to make the connection (see
“7-Pin S-Video-Out Jack” on page 1 - 9 ).
