SWITCHES

SWITCHES

Wired networks offer quick communication channels between
users, computers and network devices through switch connection
withinlocal area network. Products under this category include
chassis, core, edge, secure switches, managed, Web Smart and
unmanaged switches, transceivers, converters and adapters.

Unmanaged

- Si mp lest way to build a network and let it run itself

- Plug-and-play connectivity for small businesses

- Ideal for small networks that are sharing resources

- Green Ethernet

Smart

- Many of the benefits of managed, as outlined below,

but without the complexity or cost

- Ease of configuration through web-management

- Ideal for users wishing to build small to medium

size networks but who don’t need the advanced

features necessary for corporate deployments

Managed

- Allows administrators to monitor traffic across the

network, introduce redundancy and control access

- Found in networks with numerous users and

applications, where performance and reliability must

be maximized and security enforced

- Ideal for large sites where server farms are deployed,

with hundreds of users sharing multiple printers and

applications and routinely using wireless access and

video-conferencing, such as in corporate headquarters

- Includes D-Link’s industry leading selection of

xStack switches

Unified Wireless

- Managed switches which offer flexible deployment,

one single device can manage both wired and wireless

access traffic – unified switch = wireless controller +

LAN switch

- Feature-rich centralized management for wireless

Access Points (AP) and clients, including security policy

and RF parameters

- Enables seamless wireless roaming without the need

for cursor re-authentication: necessary in particular for

Voice-over-WLAN (VoWLAN) applications

- Compared to previous generation wireless solutions

(mobile controller), unified switching platforms offer

a strong depth of features including incomplete wired

switching functions and enough physical connections

to be located at the ‘edge’ of the network

xStack

- High port-density Layer 3 stackable switches

- Combine the ultimate performance with fault tolerance,

security, management functions with flexibility and

ease-of-use

- Equipped with 2 stacking ports providing 20Gbps full

duplex bandwidth

- Provides the 10G uplinks for transmission at 10 times

the speed of a Gigabit port

- Flexible and Scalable - Whether you need to bring

Gigabit or just conventional 10/100Mbps speed to your

organization's desktops, D-Link xStack has the right

solution with right port types, port densities and uplinks

to match your requirements
