POWER SUPPLY
Using on batteries □
Insert eight size D (R20) batteries with the O and © marks
properly aligned.
Replace the batteries when the OPE/BATT indicator becomes
dim, tape speed slows down, volume decreases or sound is
distorted during operation.
• Make sure that the FUNCTION switch is set to TAPE/
POWER6STANDBY before inserting batteries.
• Before using on batteries, disconnect the AC cord from the AC
inlet. Battery power is cut off automatically when the cord is
connected.
Note on the batteries
• Make sure that the O and © marks are properly aligned.
• Do not mix different types of batteries or old batteries with new
ones.
• Never recharge the batteries, apply heat to them or take them
apart.
• When not using the batteries, remove them to prevent needless
battery wear.
If liquid leaks from the batteries, wipe thoroughly to remove.
Using on AC house current

CAUTION
The AC inlet of this set may be connected only with the attached
AC power cord or one recommended by Aiwa Co., LTD. Use with
others may result in the risk of fire or damage of AC inlet.
CONNECTIONS
Using the center unit coupled with the speakers -> Q
Align the speakers with the guide brackets on either side of the
center unit. Slide each speaker down into the guide brackets until
the height is level with the center unit.
• Check that the speakers are attached securely.
Using the center unit and the speakers separated -> □
Slide the speakers up off the guide brackets, while pressing the
speaker release knob ®.
• Take care not to stretch the speaker cords.
Connecting the speakers [i
Connect the right speaker to the R terminals, and the left speaker
to the L terminals.
Press the lever of the speaker terminals and insert the
conductors of the speaker cord with the white broken line into O
and of the other cords into ©.
CAUTION
Be sure the AC power cord is disconnected before making
connections.
NOTE
Refrain from using speakers with less than 8 ohms impedance,
or connecting two speakers to the same jack. Doing so could
result in damage to this system.
