RECORDING FROM A COMPACT
DISC OR THE RADIO
• Recording is done on the side facing the cassette hoider.
• Use only Type I (normal) tapes.
1 Insert a cassette into deck 1.
@ The side to be recorded on
2 Get the source ready for recording.
To record from a CD, set the FUNCTION switch to CD and
place a disc.
To record from a radio broadcast, set the FUNCTION switch
to RADIO and tune in to a station.
3 Press the #REC button of deck 1.
The ►PLAY button is pressed automatically.
Recording starts.
When recording from a CD, press the ►/IIPLAY/PAUSE
button.
Basic operation
Press the following buttons.
To stop
■/¿iSTOP/EJECT button
To pause
II PAUSE button
Press again to resume recording.
When the end of the tape is reached, the tape stops and the
• REC and ►PLAY buttons are released automatically.
After recording
Set the FUNCTION switch to TAPE/POWER(!)STANDBY.
If a high-pitched sound is heard during recording from
AM -» □
Press the TUNER MODE/OSC button to select the position that
gives less noise. Each time the button is pressed, the display
changes as illustrated.
• Do not press any of the deck 2 buttons during recording. It may
affect the recording sound.
• If the erasure prevention tab is broken off, the #REC button
cannot be depressed.
• Adjusting the output volume and changing the equalizer setting
do not affect the recorded sound.
• When recording near a television, noise may be recorded. Move
the unit further away from the television.
To erase the recording
1 Set the FUNCTION switch to TAPE/6STANDBY POWER.
2 Insert a cassette into deck 1 with the side to be erased facing
the cassette holder.
3 Press the #REC button to start erasing.
