Regulating Pressure
The pressure screw regulates the pressure that
the presser foot exerts on the fabric. Correct
pressure is important to ensure smooth and
even feeding
of the fabric. Generally, heavy
fabric
requires
heavy
pressure;
lightweight
fabric, light pressure. But fabric texture must
also be considered. Soft fabrics, for example,
require less pressure than crisp fabrics.
Lower the presser foot before setting pressure.
• To decrease pressure, turn screw upward
(counterclockwise).
* To increase pressure, turn screw downward
(clockwise).
