Connecting the aerial

Your video recorder is actually a 'TV set without a screen'.

This is why you have to connect it to an aerial as well as to

the TV set. Only then can you make recordings and play
cassettes.

O

Remove the aerial cabje plug from the TV set and insert

it into the socket iOQiat the rear of the video recorder.

O Use the aerial cable provided to connect the socket :l(§i

on the video recorder to the aerial input socket on your

TV set.

Both the TV set and the video recorder are now connected

to the aerial.

Connecting to the TV set

The connection to the TV set can be made in two different

ways.

Whether you choose Method 1 or Method 2 depends on
yourTV model.

Method 1:

If yourTV set has an AV-Euro-socket (scart-socket) or a DIN

AV-socket:

We recommend that you use the AV-Euro-cable (scart-ca-

ble) supplied. This will guarantee the best possible picture

and sound quality.

O

Use the AV-Eurp-cable to connect the TV set to the AV-

Euro-socket i.i.lEXJERNAL ,11on your video recorder.

O Switch on the TV set and select the programme number

'AV' (= Audio/Video input) for the video recorder. This

is explained in the operating manual for your TV set.

Important note: Many modern TV sets automatically switch

over to the programme number 'AV' during playback on the
video recorder. If your TV set does this, you do not need to

select the programme number on the TV set in the following
chapters.

Your video recorder is now fully connected to the TV set.
