How do I find a particular position on the tape?
Sometimes you may have recorded two or even more TV
programmes on one cassette. In this case, it is worthwhile
making a note of the tape position at which the recordings
start and end.
So that you do not have to search for a long time, your
video recorder offers you two methods for automatic
searching: 'GO TO' and 'VISS'.
Search for tape position (GO TO):

O Now use the digit buttons to enter the (4-digit)
tape position that you wish to find.
O
You may now select the function to be started from that
position, e.g.: i.LST.QP„.MB, or LiREQpRD„L.i^^ .
The video recorder winds the tape to the chosen posi­
tion and then continues automatically with the selected
function.
The VHS Index Search System ('VISS');
The video recorder writes VISS code marks on the tape ev-
ery time the record button is pressed. Using the button
iiilNJDEXJi you can search for these VISS code marks on the
tape.
You cannot use the VISS function with recordings made on
another videorecorder that does not have the VISS func­
tion.
Intro-Scan:
This VISS function will give you a survey of all the TV pro­
grammes recorded on the tape.

Press button ilMDEXJl. The display will show 'INDEX -'.
O Press button ilSfc:. The tape will play for 10 seconds,
then wind on to the next VISS code mark and play for
another 10 seconds, and so on.
When the end of the tape is reached, the tape is rewound to
the beginning.
Note: When yoju press any tape transport button (e.g. button
iifei or ilSjOpj.ii the video recorder interrupts the 'In­
tro-scan' function.
VISS search;
Select this function if you are looking fora particular VISS
code mark.

First press button (remote control), and then
button ^irhiito select the following code mark, or button
to select the previous one.
If you are looking fpr.a code mark that is not the next
one, press button or ii“l as often as is necessary.
