The modem should respond to several commands issues by the Query
command.

You can click View log to see all of the responses to the Query command.

Repeat the Query Modem command for each of the modems to verify that they
respond.
This tests the ability for the device driver to communicate through the COM
port or ports to the RocketModem IV and receive an intelligent response from
the modem.
If this test fails, run the bootable RocketModem IV Diagnostics from a CD or
bootable floppy diskette. If necessary, you can download the bootable
Diagnostics from
ftp://ftp.comtrol.com/html/RM4_diag.htm
.
Testing RocketModem IV Ports
You can test the RocketModem IV using a terminal emulator such as the Comtrol
Corporation’s Test Terminal (Wcom2) program or Hyperterminal. The following
procedure shows using Test Terminal.
1.
If necessary, install Test Terminal,

Stop all applications that may be accessing the ports such as RRAS or any
faxing, or production software. See the appropriate help systems or manuals
for instructions on stopping these services or applications.
If another application is controlling the port, then Test Terminal will be unable
to open the port and an error message will be shown.
3.
Start Test Terminal (WCom2), from the Start menu, select Programs > Comtrol
> Utilities > Test Terminal (WCom2).
