Changing Developer
Unit with Toner
Cartridge (KX-PDP5)
When
the
printer
displays
the
blinking
message
“CHNG DEV
U26”,
the
developer unit should be replaced.
Important:
• When installing a new developer unit, be sure to use the toner
cartridge attached to a new developer unit.
•Do not use the toner of the previously installed toner cartridge.

To
change
the
developer
unit,
follow
these
procedures:
Turn the power OFF.

Press
clamshell
release
button.
Clamshell
will
open
automatically.
Remove the existing cleaning pad and install the new cleaning pad.
Important:
The drum unit contains a photosensitive drum. Exposing it to light
may damage the drum.
• Do not expose the drum unit to light for more than 5 minutes.
• Do not touch the yellowish-green drum surface. Lift the drum unit
by the green labeled tabs.
• Keep the drum unit away from dust or dirt.
•Do not place the drum unit in a high humidity area, and keep it
out of direct sunlight.
