2. Relieve for approximately 3 seconds on the maximum steering angle by operating the steering wheel to left and
right.
3. Repeat the procedure 2 in both left and right direction 3 to 4 times.

Inspection and Maintenance
of Steering
8.4.1
Inspection and Maintenance of Toe In
Toe in functions as an important role to control the
stability of the vehicle. Tendency for control loss of
vehicle while running may be caused by misalignment of
toe in. In such case, inspect and adjust.
(Unit: mm {in})
1) Loosen the locknut for tie rod end.
2) Remove the nut for tie rod end from the knuckle
arm.
3) Adjust the length of tie rod end by turning only
the tie rod end.
4) Tighten the locknut after adjusting.
Torque: 147 to 167N•m {1500 to
1700kgf•cm, 108 to 123lbf•ft}

CAUTION
• Adjust the both sides of tie rod end at the same
time.
• Make sure the nonexistence of looseness for
front tire while adjusting.
