[ Playback control (Vìdeo CP)^
If the Video CD has “With Playback
Control” or others written on the disc sur
face or on the jacket, the scenes or infor
mation to be viewed (or listened to) can
be selected interactively with the TV moni
tor by looking at the menu shown on the
TV monitor.
In these instructions, playback using the
menu screen is referred to as the “menu
play” for video CDs. This player supports
Video CDs with playback control.

S-video output connector
This connector separates the color (C)
and luminance (Y) signals before trans
mitting them to the TV set in order to
achieve a sharper picture.
It is recommended to use the S-video
cable (optional) when connecting the play
er to a TV set equipped with an S-video
input connector.
[ S1-video input connector
When signals are supplied to this connec
tor, pictures with a different picture aspect
ratio (picture frame width to frame height)
are identified, and the wide-screen TV pic
ture quality mode is selected automatical-
ly-
DVDs are divided into some large sec
tions (titles) or some small sections
(chapters). Each section is numbered;
these numbers are called “Title number”
or “Chapter number”.
