Reproducing a Virtual Surround Sound
(V.S.S.) effect
This player can reproduce a virtual surround sound
effect which reproduces a sound as if heard from
non-existent rear speakers even when only a 2-
channel stereo system is connected [for playback
of Dolby Digital (AC-3)/5.1ch DVD software only].
Press V.S.S. (VIRTUAL SURROUND
SOUND) during play.
(Each time this button is pressed, the display win
dow changes as shown below.)

For your reference:
•This function works only with DVDs recorded in
Dolby Digital (AC-3)/5.1ch surround. (The V.S.S.
indicator is displayed on the display window.)

•The virtual surround sound effect may not work
properly for some DVD software.
•When the player is connected to a TV set with
surround effect, turn off the surround effect other
than this virtual surround sound effect.
• For optimum effect, it is recommended that the
distance between the TV set and the listening po
sition be about 3 or 4 times the distance between
the right and left front speakers.
