Electronic Flash Units
Nikon offers four electronic flash units which mount directly on
the camera’s accessory shoe and feature TTL auto flash
exposure control.
Speedlight SB-15
The SB-15’s flash head rotates a full 180° and its flash module
tilts for bounce flash or close-up shooting. Guide number is 25
(ASA/ISO 100 and meters) or 41 (ASA/ISO 25 and feet).
Speedlight SB-16B
The SB-16B has two flash heads for creative bounce flash; the
main flash head tilts upwards 90° and rotates 270°; the smaller
secondary head faces straight ahead to provide a catchlight for
the eyes. Four-step zooming available. Guide number is 32 (ASA/
ISO 100 and meters) or 52 (ASA/ISO 25 and feet) with the zoom
set at N for lenses 35 mm or longer.
Speedlight SB-18
Lightweight and easy to operate. Guide number is 20 (ASA/ISO
100 and meters) or 33 (ASA/ISO 25 and feet).
Speedlight SB-20
Cylindrical flash head rotates 90° upwards and 7° downwards.
Three-step zooming provided. For manual flash operation, the
amount of light output can be selected in five steps from full to
1/16. Guide number is 30 (ISO 100 and meters) or 49 (ISO 25 and
feet) with the zoom set at N for lenses 35 mm or longer.
