Press START/STOP.
Recording in Portrait mode starts.
Resuming Automatic mode
Set the AUTO LOCK switch to the green position.
Note
When recording under fluorescent, sodium, or mercury lamps, the brightness of the recorded
picture may vary, or the color of the recorded picture may become unnatural.
Sports Mode
In Sports mode, you can clearly record subjects moving at high
speed, providing a high-quality picture with a minimum of blur in
the slow and still playback modes. The fastest shutter speed that
matches the shooting situation (between 1/60 and 1/500) is
selected to maintain the appropriate exposure. Sports mode
provides more effective recording than you can achieve in the
high-speed shutter mode.
You may want to use Sports mode when recording the following subjects:
• outdoor sports scenes such as football or tennis
• a landscape from a moving car
Setting to Sports mode

Set the STANDBY switch up.
Set the AUTO LOCK to the lower
position.
