4. Select BLOCK A or BLOCK B using the right and left arrow keys. Press ENTER to
continue to the next screen. In Figure 10, BLOCK A is selected.
NOTE: When a block is selected, the LED on the reaction module lights up. In a
dual 48/48-well reaction module, BLOCK A appears on the left side.

5. Press the numeric keys to enter a new sample volume. Press ENTER to continue to the
next screen.
NOTE: When running a dual block, the message is RUN ITAQFST on A, where
ITAQFST is the protocol and A is the block.
6. (Optional) Select VIEW to review the protocol before starting the run. Press ENTER to
confirm the selection.
NOTE: While reviewing the protocol, press ENTER to scroll down through the
steps in the protocol. When you reach the last step in the protocol, press ENTER
again to exit. In Figure 11, the screen shows the steps in the ITAQFST protocol.

7. Select RUN using the arrow keys. Press ENTER to start running the protocol.
Monitoring the Protocol Run
To monitor the run:
1. Press SCREEN on the control panel.
The Running screen appears as a default. If SCREEN is pressed again, the instrument
shows graphical screen (Figure 12). Press SCREEN again to see the Time Remaining
screen.
NOTE: For the dual 48/48-well reaction module, the thermal cycler displays these
screens for Block A and then for Block B. Pressing SCREEN toggles the display
through each screen and both blocks.
