Compliance with Electromagnetic
Compatibility Standards
E.0 Introduction
This appendix provides information on the SP500 drive’s compliance with European
community electromagnetic compatibility standards and covers the following:
•
Requirements for standards compliance
•
Guidelines on installing the AC Mains Filter
•
Instructions on how the drive must be wired
The SP500 drives listed on the Declaration of Conformity (DOC) have been tested and
are in compliance with the following standards when installed with the appropriate AC
Mains Filter:
•
EN50081-1 (1992)
Electromagnetic compatibility - Generic emission standard
Part 1: Residential, commercial, and light industrial
•
EN50081-2 (1992)
Electromagnetic compatibility - Generic emission standard
Part 2: Industrial
•
EN50082-1 (1992)
Electromagnetic compatibility - Generic immunity standard

Note that the conformity of the SP500 drive to the above standards does not
guarantee that the entire installation will be in conformance.

of Conformity (DOC).
E.1 Compliance Requirements
In order for the SP500 drive to conform to the standards listed in section E.0, the drive
must:
•
be specified by model number on the DOC.
•
have a CE mark. This mark is found on the drive’s certification label.
•
include an AC Mains Filter. See section E.2 for information on installing the filter.
