Some grinding is required to fit the hydraulic
hoses through the bellhousing and bypass
the NV4500 transmission.

Regarding P/N 712557 adapter plate to the Peugeot bellhousing: Jeep Wranglers 1987 through
1989, were equipped with a French 5 speed transmission referred to as a "BA10/15". To replace
the original Peugeot transmission with a NV4500, we’ve manufactured a special steel plate
that allows you to use the original Peugeot Jeep bellhousing. Our adapter plate bolts to the
front of the NV4500 and has two special dowel bolts to align the Peugeot bellhousing. This
kit requires you to modified your NV4500 front bearing retainer, then install it on the front of
the NV4500 transmission. With this adapter
plate and modified retainer installed, the front
of the NV4500 is an exact image of the stock
Peugeot transmission. The stock internal re-
lease bearing should be replaced with Jeep Part
#83503383, or our P/N 716214 . A new pilot bush-
ing is provided in the kit to fit the tip of the NV4500 input shaft. Your stock clutch
components can be retained; however, a new clutch disc and pressure plate should
be used. We offer a Centerforce clutch disc
(P/N 384193) and pressure plate (P/
N CF361897) as an upgrade to a stock clutch system. The transmission must be
the Dodge Standard Duty NV4500 with the 1-1/8” 10 spline, 7-1/2" input shaft stickout
length.
