Telling your computer to use the Color StyleWriter 2200 with QuickDraw GX
Make sure the printer and your computer are connected and turned on.

Select the Chooser from the Apple (
K
) menu.

In the Chooser dialog box, use the “Connect via” pop-up menu to choose the
appropriate type of connection.
Note: If QuickDraw GX is installed on your Macintosh, background printing
is always on and cannot be turned off.

In the Chooser dialog box, click items to select them.
Some Chooser features change, depending on the selection you made in
step 2. If you chose Serial in step 2, the Chooser looks like this:

First, click

bar and arrows to

Second, click one of
these items to indicate
which port you connected the
printer to: the modem port or
the printer port.
Finally, to create a desktop
printer, click Create. A printer
icon appears on your
desktop for easy access.
The AppleTalk Zones
box may not be
displayed in your
Chooser.
If the printer is connected
directly to your Macintosh,
choose Serial.
If the printer is connected to
another Macintosh on the
network and is available as a
shared device, choose
Servers.
(If your Chooser doesn’t
have the “Connect via” pop-
up menu, you haven’t
installed QuickDraw GX.)
