Pick up the other pressure plate. Hold-
ing the bronze side down, and the
rounded trap slot facing the discharge
side of the pump, install it into posi-
t i o n o v e r t h e g e a r s .
Slide the two steel rings over the shafts
and seat them into the recesses in the
pressure plate.
Place the remaining isolation plate in
place on the suction side on top of the
pressure plate. Either side up is right,
b u t w i t h l o n g e n d t o d r i v e s h a f t .
I n s t a l l t h e r e t a i n e r r i n g .
I n s t a l l t h e b a c k - u p r i n g .
Install the O-ring as in the bottom of
t h e p u m p .
Examine the seal. If it is damaged or if
REASSEMBLY
previous leakage has been evidence,
replace. (See SEAL REPLACEMENT
f o r d e t a i l e d i n s t r u c t i o n s . )
Gently wipe the machine surface of
the flange with emery cloth. Wash in
s o l v e n t a n d b l o w d r y.
Install the body O-ring into the groove
in the flange. Use heavy grease to
h o l d i t i n p l a c e .
Coat the drive gear extension with
heavy grease to protect the lips of the
seal.
Slide the flange over the drive gear
extension and seat it against the pump
b o d y.
