Custom Setting 19: Grid Display (On-Demand Grid Lines)
Using this option, on-demand grid lines ( 10)
can be displayed in the viewfinder for reference
when composing photographs, taking landscape
shots, or shifting or tilting a PC Nikkor lens. To
display the grid, select ON. The default setting is
OFF (no grid displayed).
