Parameters
port
Specifies the port you want to configure. You can
specify more than one port at a time. To configure all
ports in the switch, enter ALL.
intportcost
Specifies the cost of a port connected to a bridge that
is part of the same MSTP region. This is referred to as
an internal port cost. The range is 0 to 200,000,000.
The default setting is Auto-detect (0), which sets port
cost depending on the speed of the port. Default
values are 2,000,000 for 10 Mbps ports, 200,000 for a
100 Mbps ports, and 20,000 for one gigabit ports.
extportcost
Specifies the cost of a port connected to a bridge
which is a member of another MSTP region or is
running STP or RSTP. This is referred to as an external
port cost. The range is 0 to 200,000,000. The default
setting is 200,000.
portpriority
Specifies the port’s priority. This parameter is used as a
tie breaker when two or more ports are determined to
have equal costs to the root bridge. The range is 0 to
240 in increments of 16, for a total of 16 increments, as
shown in Table 16 on page 240. You specify the
increment of the desired value. The default is 128,
which is increment 8.
