Linearity Factors. Eight upscale, downscale and midscale linearity factors are assigned to each voltage probe. These values
can be viewed or edited by moving the cursor to the UPSCALE, DOWNSCALE or MISCALE command and pressing the
key. The instrument will sequence through the linearity factors by pressing the up/down arrow keys. If a value is to be
edited, scroll to the desired linearity factor, use the right arrow key to move the cursor to the first digit in value field and then
use the up/down arrow keys to increment/decrement the number. Set the remaining digits in the same manner. If another value
needs to be changed, move the cursor back to the range field and use the up/down arrow keys to display the next value to be
modified. Press the key when all of the changes have been entered.

Save. Exiting the EDIT DATA menu displays the confirmation menu as shown in Figure 3-15. Move the cursor to YES to
save the edited parameters or NO to leave the data unchanged.

3.3.3 FREQ Key.

This key provides for the setting of the measured frequency so that frequency calibration factors can be applied to the
measurement. However, the Boonton series of voltage probes do NOT provide this functionality hence making this a null
function.

The operating frequency may be set by first pressing the key. The instrument will advance to the Frequency menu as
shown in Figure 3-16. The frequency for Channel 1 is entered by positioning the cursor to the value field under the CH1
heading and pressing the key. A value between 0.01 GHz and 100 GHz can be entered. The power on default is 0.05
GHz. Once the frequency is entered, the corresponding Cal Factor is displayed in dB beneath the frequency. Since no
calibration factors are provided dashes will appear in the dBCF field.

3.3.4 AVG Key.

The averaging time may be adjusted to optimize measurement speed and display stability. Averaging time, in seconds, can be
adjusted in 0.05 increments to a maximum of 20.00 seconds. The length of the filter in number of samples is shown on the
display.

To adjust the averaging time, press the key and the instrument will display the screen as shown in Figure 3-17.
Position the cursor under the desired channel heading and press the key. Use the arrow keys to set the desired value
and then press to accept. Entering 00.00 selects the auto filtering Mode. This menu can be accessed to show the filter
setting in the auto mode.
