*1: You cannot use the volume as a data volume of an XP Continuous Access Journal pair for the delta
resync operation.
*2: The volume can be used as a secondary data volume only when you restore an XP Continuous Access
Journal pair or perform a RAID Manager horctakeover operation. However, even in that case, you
cannot use the volume as a secondary data volume of an XP Continuous Access Journal pair for the delta
resync operation.
*3: If the source volume is used as a primary data volume, the volume migration will stop.
*4: Remember that the volume that belongs to the journal group that was registered when the system option
mode 707 is set to ON cannot be used as the XP Continuous Access Journal primary data volume. For

*5: An existing Continuous Access Journal secondary volume can be used as a Copy on Write Snapshot
P VOL. However, Continuous Access Journal pairs cannot be created by specifying an existing Copy on
Write Snapshot P VOL as a secondary volume.
LUSE
Two LUSE volumes can be assigned to an XP Continuous Access Journal pair. Both of the LUSE
volumes that are assigned to the primary and secondary data volumes must consist of the same
number of LDEVs and must have the same capacity.
To perform LUSE operations on primary or secondary data volumes in an existing XP Continuous
Access Journal pair, you must delete the pair first to return the volumes to SMPL status. For detailed

Virtual LUN
You can perform Virtual LUN operations on primary and secondary data volumes in XP Continuous
Access Journal pairs. If you need to perform Virtual LUN operations on an XP Continuous Access
Interoperability with Other Products and Functions 75
