5 Tasks
This chapter provides step-by-step procedures for performing many common tasks in NSDEE.
Configuring Tool Locations
NSDEE project properties and new project wizards present you with a list of available tools to
choose from.
shows an example of these settings as seen in the Tool Locations
property page for a managed project that builds an SQL/MX application. You can configure the
values available on property pages and in new project wizards using the Tool Locations preference
page.

NSDEE automatically detects the locations of tools when, in a new workspace, you first open the
Tool Locations preference page or when you create your first local project. Typically, you shouldn't
need to visit the Tool Locations preferences unless you install new tools after creating a workspace.
This section describes the following tasks:
•
“Adding cross compiler locations” (page 62)
•
“Adding SQL/MX preprocessor locations” (page 63)
•
“Adding Cygwin/Msys locations” (page 63)
Adding cross compiler locations
To add locations of newly installed cross compilers to NSDEE's list of cross compiler locations,
perform the following steps from the NonStop Development perspective:
1.
Select Configure Tool Locations... from the NonStop Tools menu.
2.
In the Cross Compilers tabbed page of the Tool Locations preferences, select the Add... button
to open the Add Cross Compiler Location dialog:
