Creating a remote makefile project

Remote makefile projects are hosted on a NonStop system where the source files and makefiles
reside. Creating a remote makefile project allows you to edit remote source files and launch builds
from NSDEE. When you create a remote makefile project, you can create a project from scratch
or you can use the project to build existing source using existing makefiles.

To create a remote project, perform the following steps from the NonStop Development perspective:

1.

Select New > Remote Makefile Project from the context menu of the NonStop Project Explorer
view.

2.

In the Remote Makefile Project wizard (

Figure 1 (page 28)

), enter a name for your project in

the Project name: field.

3.

From the Build system: combo, select a NonStop system where your project will be located
(or select Edit… if you haven’t yet configured a connection to the NonStop system).

4.

Enter the remote OSS or Guardian path where your project will reside in the Project location:
field (or choose Browse… to browse for a location).

5.

In the Platform: row, choose either the OSS or Guardian button depending on which platform
you project will reside.

6.

Select the Connect to Build System… button to establish a connection to the NonStop system
you specified in step 3. (The button will be disabled if you already established a connection.)
