GPA Analysis Statements
The final section of the standard report is a series of text statements based on the GPA
analysis of the node‟s performance. The section consists of several parts as follows:
A discussion of the overall health of the system with regard to system capacity,
CPU load balance, CPU memory capacity, and disk subsystem performance. The
statement mentions possible problems found by the analysis and makes
recommendations for correcting them. This might include a hardware
reconfiguration.
A performance analysis for each processor in the system with regard to its
utilization, memory capacity, and failure impact on the remaining processors. This
part of the statement section also points out potential problems and suggests ways
of improving performance.
An analysis for each disk volume in the system with regard to cache performance
and request queue time. This part of the statement section also has
recommendations for reallocating cache blocks and points to possible reasons for
inadequate performance.
The text statements are contained in a GPA EDIT file named TUNEDATA. You can
customize the statements to suit your needs by altering the text with a text editor. You
can also omit the statements from the standard report by deleting everything but the
first statement in the file. See
, for details of these
procedures.
